Bitez Beach is known for being an ideal place to enjoy watersports. Those looking to windsurf will appreciate the coastal winds. Beginners should head out in the morning when the winds are calmer. Those with experience should hit the water in the afternoon when the winds pick up.  

Jet skis, banana boats, and many other water activities are available for enjoyment. This lets you get out on the crystal blue Mediterranean waters.  

A weekly market takes place in the village, giving you an opportunity to buy local handicrafts, fruits, and souvenirs. Thankfully, the village center is close to the beach, making it easy to visit the market. Similar to other markets and bazaars in Turkey, prepare to haggle with shopkeepers selling their wares.  

Gara Church  

This hidden gem is an abandoned church located in plain sight off the main road. The lack of Christian-practicing people in the area has led to the church slowly decaying. While the building isn’t much to look at, what is hidden inside is the real star of the show. The church’s floor is covered in intricate mosaics. Down the main aisle of the church are geometric patterns. Then in another room, several fish and dolphins are depicted. Hopefully, the local preservation effort will gain momentum, and this humble piece of history can be saved.

You will find a range of hotels situated along the coast. Everything from small family-run boutique hotels to large luxury resorts are near Bitez Beach. This lets you book the perfect lodging for your lifestyle and budget.  With that being said, Bitez is targeted towards the upscale traveler, so low-class budget hotels are not common.  

Restaurants and Nightlife  

You will not be disappointed with the cuisine the restaurants in Bitez have to offer. You will find a variety of delectable dishes that feature local flavors. This is your opportunity to try authentic Turkish cuisine. The nightlife is not active in Bitez. If you are looking for this, consider traveling to Bodrum or Gumbet.  

When to Visit Bitez Beach 

When planning a beach vacation, you want to go when the weather is ideal for spending your days on the sand. The best beach weather in Bitez is from May to October. November and December are still warm enough for some, but not everyone. January through March, Bitez experiences heavy rains.  

How to Visit  

You can easily visit Bitez Beach by car or bus. It is about 6 kilometers from Bodrum. Turn off the main road, drive through the village of Bitez, and you’ll end up at the beach. There is plenty of parking available. You could also pay for parking at one of the beachside hotels.
